AL:BRF Employ Apprentice Activator
The Active Leicester: Braunstone and Rowley Fields project is pleased to announce that we have now employed an Activator Apprentice, who will support the delivery of sessions delivered in the area.
Red Martin, 17, will be working alonside the Project Activator's, supporting them to deliver sport and physical activity sessions to residents.
Red, who is a local resident, was appointed in August 2016 as an 'apprentice', meaning that she will be able to learn new skills and knowledge and gain qualifications and experience, whilst earning a wage at the same time, something which she said appealed more to her than going to college.
Red said, "I am really excited to get going and start getting people active. I am very passionate about sport and about doing something positive in my local community; so to be able to both at the same time is fantastic! I am also glad that I am able to learn new skills and gain qualifications whilst also being able to earn a wage."
All of Red's training is being done through the b-inspired Apprenticeship Scheme, which offers young people a great opportunity to get into the sport and social media industry. Please get in touch if you would like more information.
